Ronald Prent, creative director of Wisseloord Studios, was so impressed by TPM that the suggestion by Eelco Grimm to develop an affordable model with similar attributes excited him immediately.
In March 2011 Ronald Prent reports:
"When I heard Grimm TPM, I was amazed by the unbelievably accurate phantom center. It sat rock solid in the middle of the stereo image and was so narrow that it seemed as if the center speaker was on. TPM's performance is sonically unpreceded, it rocked my world. Unfortunately it is too expensive to use in large lengths. So I was thrilled to find out if Grimm Audio was able to get similar performance for a more affordable price. We performed the test of TPR at 'The Saint of Sound' mastering studio and when we changed from the studio's standard cable to a trial run of the new TPR, everybody was stunned. Again I heard the impressive stereo image. It put a smile on my face because I realized that this quality was now within reach for all wiring in Wisseloord. It would make the studio sound like never before. A facility is as good as its weakest link and by using TPR the cables are not a weak link anymore. Grimm Audio TPR-16 'Twisted Pair Recording' 16 pair cable
TPR16 is sixteen TPR cables, slightly reduced in diameter, in a common jacket. All the design features that make TPR a great cable are retained: heavy shielding and symmetrical cross-section to insure high RF immunity and a special interface layer to eliminate microphony.
In contrast with other multipair cables, TPR16 makes no compromises compared to its single-channel equivalent. This makes TPR16 the most neutral multipair cable ever created.
Grimm Audio TPM 'Twisted Pair Master cable' - the ideal audio cable
Cable science? Indeed! Physics has a lot to say about "the ideal audio cable", particularly about RFI sensitivity and microphonics. RFI immunity hinges on precision control of geometry, perfect symmetry of the cross-section and good shield coverage.
The Grimm TPM Twisted Pair Master cable uses tape-wound PTFE insulation, silver plated copper wire, glass fibre fillers, no drain wire and two thick layers of braid shield. A bonded semiconductive interface layer under the shield makes this the least microphonic cable in the industry by a margin of 20dB.
TPM provides the most natural and least coloured reproduction available, which makes it a true reference for mastering studios, high-end home systems and mixing rooms alike.
